I’ll get to some good stuff in a minute, so just hang with me, because I need to vent a little bit first. We’re about to celebrate a holiday that was intended to be a mechanism for calling America to a collective expression of gratitude to God for His blessings. Instead, it has been hijacked and reduced to a frantic obsession over Thursday menus and Black Friday marketing. We shouldn’t be surprised. After all, the most profound event in human history, the birth of Jesus Christ, has been reduced to myths about bearded fat guys and flying sleds.

But another element sullies the picture as the 2016 ‘holiday season’ begins to unfold. While millions of families are contemplating the annual process of stuffing turkeys, the propaganda machine that masquerades as the ‘mainstream media’ is busy doing some stuffing, as well. They’re stuffing a nauseating spectacle down our throats, the ‘Cavalcade of the Intolerant Losers’.

The so-called ‘progressives’ who now run all of public education in America have once again joined ranks with the minions of George Soros, the anarchists’ ever-present cash cow for funding and coordinating anti-social, anti-American, and anti-Christian chaos wherever they can find or create it. Together, they have launched another coordinated attack based on the emergence of the most optimistic and positive political decision America has made since Ronald Reagan. They apparently find the prospect of Donald Trump’s presidency almost as unacceptable and repulsive as reasonable standards for decency, or normal constraints of law and order, or respectful patterns of social conduct.

America’s ‘Best’ – America’s ‘Brightest’?
What we see playing out on our streets (again) is more than an expression of someone’s right to engage in ‘free speech’. It is a crystal clear exhibition of the kind of ‘upside down thinking’ that the billions of dollars we’re pouring into every level of ‘education’ in America are really producing. We’re shaping minds that on the one hand can’t possibly determine whether a child in the womb is a human being or not, or which bathroom to use, but have not the slightest doubt that a relatively few human beings in a few developed nations somehow have the power to control the climate, simply by extorting more money from ‘the rich’. They are absolutely convinced that the world could not possibly be the product of an intelligent and purposeful Designer, but they passionately affirm that something as profound and incredibly complex as human DNA is nothing more than the random progression of equally random processes that began billions and billions of years ago somewhere out in the vast emptiness of space. Something, somehow, just popped into existence out of absolutely nothing and eventually, it accidentally became everything we see. What an achievement in critical thinking and intellectual deduction! These same fertile minds that thought voting was too much of a bother for them personally, find deep fulfillment in screaming out filthy epithets in their hypocritical condemnation of the ‘hateful rhetoric’ of Donald Trump.

Not a New Thing ~
If the prophet Isaiah happened to be publishing a blog today, I think he might simply re-post something he wrote centuries ago:

“…In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. So truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice” (Isaiah 59:13-15 NKJV). Isaiah might even invite a colleague from another generation to jump in as a guest blogger. Jeremiah could offer this contribution: “…This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the LORD their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth” (Jeremiah 7:28 NKJV).

When those who oppose God and His truth are elevated to positions of authority, the results are remarkably similar, regardless of the era or the culture involved.

But there’s some good news, too. (See, I told you we’d get there.) Decades of ‘liberal/progressive’ indoctrination throughout academia, and their systematic denunciation and mockery of anything remotely resembling Biblical truth, have led to the anarchy we’re seeing on our streets every day. Nonetheless, we have reasons for hope and optimism as we approach Thanksgiving. There is incredible potential for benefit in the simple act of giving thanks. The positive attitude adjustment alone is powerful. Just shifting our gaze from the things we don’t have and wish we could get to those things God has graciously provided can increase our faith and be an effective counteractive force against depression and anxiety. Expressions of gratitude cost nothing, but the loving acknowledgment that attends them is of great value to the recipient. In a world with so many reasons to feel bad, giving thanks feels good, and that good feeling can create an atmosphere of love and unity that is compelling contagious.

We Can Take Thanksgiving Back ~
Attitudes of hate and division are being magnified and multiplied all around us. Genuine thanksgiving can be a counteractive force against both. Thanksgiving is the antithesis of the selfish, grasping, entitlement attitudes thrown into our faces every day. We may not be able to stop the ‘march of the intolerant’, but in our homes, and within the sphere of our influence, we can practice what Thanksgiving was meant to be. We can take our holiday back from the burnt turkeys and Black Friday deals. Maybe if we do that and keep at it, we can take our nation back, too.
